Volunteers

With your help we are able to serve hundreds of homeless Veterans from the greater Columbus area. As a volunteer you can select the shift you’d like to work (or just come when you can) during Stand Down on Tuesday.

When filling our the Volunteer Registration, you can sign up as an individual. You can even sign up as a member of a group that’s participating in Stand Down.

Make your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of the jobs that you’d like to work. We appreciate your time and your interest in our program, our guests, and our community.

We also need volunteers on Monday, the day before, to help sort clothing in the Free Clothing Store.

Welcome our guests as they come to Stand Down. Many will have questions in anticipation upon entering the building.

In Intake, we gather important service information. In addition, we collect information about the residential statuses of our guests.

Volunteers are assigned to specific areas to answer questions from our guests. With a list of services, you will direct guests to special services.

This is a great job if you’d rather sit as a volunteer. At the entrance to each service area a volunteer will count the guests that enter that area with a palm counter.

We serve a great hot lunch to all of our guests and volunteers. We need servers at the counter and other cafeteria assistance.
